| Emotional Skills: We encourage infants to explore their emotions, especially happiness. Teachers spend time singing and dancing. We always working on making sure your child feels secure. We are always working on making sure your child feels secure at our center. Social Skills: Infants gradually start to become aware of their surroundings. They will also be able to recognize people familiar to them; we will help work on that by getting your child to become familiar with their teachers and the other children in their room. We also work with your child by helping them imitate hand and facial gestures. Communication Skills: We have many activities designed to increase your infant’s communication skills, which include listening and making sounds. As your infant gets older, we encourage them to try saying common words. Fine Motor Skills: We help your child work on and improve their fine motor skills, which include finger and hand movements. Fine motor skill activities that we work on with your child include shaking a rattle and picking up finger foods. Gross Motor Skills: We help your child work on and improve their gross motor skills, which include reaching for objects, kicking, sitting, jumping, and walking. Cognitive Skills: Cognitive skills are mental skills that are used in the process of acquiring knowledge; these skills include reasoning, perception, and intuition. Your infant will be encouraged to make associations based on prior knowledge and explore the concept of cause and effect by dumping out toys and manipulating stacking rings. |
